Glossary
Every key term in the playbook, defined. These terms are also underlined throughout the site - hover any of them to see the definition in place.
- AI voiceover
- ElevenLabs-generated narration. Always Phase 1 - delivered and approved before video editing begins.
- auto-complete
- Fiverr marks an order complete 3 days after delivery if the client does not respond or request a revision.
- chat-preview
- Previewing a deliverable in chat before officially delivering, so revisions happen before the order clock and outside the revision count.
- conflict-free
- A scored sub-metric: orders that close without disputes or friction. Protected by the chat-preview-first workflow.
- creative direction
- Concepting the style, transitions, and look - work ON TOP of editing. If a client removes technical scope but adds this, the price should not go down.
- creative direction rate
- A premium rate ($100/thumbnail or higher) for when the client gives no references and expects Mark to make all creative decisions.
- custom offer
- The scoped Fiverr offer the client accepts. It governs scope (Included / NOT included / revisions / delivery), capped at 1500 characters.
- effective communication
- The scored sub-metric for how clearly you communicate - the recurring ceiling-blocker on several gigs.
- expedited delivery
- Faster turnaround for a surcharge ($35-$300), never compressed for free unless the delay was our fault.
- housekeeping submission
- Officially submitting V1 on the order page to keep Fiverr's timeline clean - always tell the client to click Request Revision so the order stays open.
- post-order survey
- Fiverr's review mechanism. Reference it once, warmly - never use banned phrases like 'five-star review'.
- retainer
- A recurring monthly arrangement at a locked per-unit rate with priority turnaround - the high-value end of the expansion ladder.
- scope creep
- When requests quietly expand beyond what the accepted offer covers.
- source files
- Editable project files (e.g. Premiere). Not included by default; a paid add-on (min $250) delivered only with the locked final version.
- standing credit
- No-expiry credit toward whatever the client needs next, offered to protect the relationship when a deliverable falls through.
- Strategy Document
- Mark's $250+ consulting deliverable covering niche positioning, packaging, SEO, and a content roadmap - pitched instead of free strategy advice.
- Subjectivity Test
- Asking yourself whether anything about the project is left to interpretation before starting - if yes, go back and ask.
- Success Score
- Fiverr's per-gig quality score, weighted toward gigs with more orders. Sub-metrics include effective communication and conflict-free orders.
- Tal Bar
- The Fiverr Success Manager whose guidance underpins the always-positive, confident communication style.
- Tal template
- The universal delivery-message structure (ahead-of-schedule callout, itemized recap, ongoing-support, 3-option close-out, review ask, forward-looking close), from Fiverr Success Manager Tal Bar.
- the gate
- The pre-quote discipline: see the actual files, get visual references, and confirm scope in writing before quoting.
- volume discount
- Percentage off for ordering multiple pieces at once (5% at 3+, 15% at 6+, 20% at 12+). Stacks with subscription discounts to a 30% cap.
